Helping Our Youths Develop Communication Skills For The Future

This website is dedicated to the radio operations of the W7MHM radio club that works in association with the Military Heritage Museum located in downtown Punta Gorda, Florida.

The Military Heritage Museum contributes to the ongoing education of  students of all ages by providing onsite history and STEM learning experiences through a wide range of learning methods as well as online learning opportunities.

The radio club provides live radio demonstrations at the Museum and offers our youths the opportunity to speak on ham radio at least once a week. The radio club works closely with the Museum management to provide a unique experience for the children and all visitors who come through the museum. Read More

Military Heritage Museum Summer History Camp Support - 2026

For the past couple of years, we have provided support to the Military Heritage Museum for their Summer History Camps.  The camps are attended by youth ages 10-15.  This provides a great opportunity for us to interact with the youth and provide them an opportunity to learn about and experience amateur radio.

Please review the Summer Camp Ham Radio schedule for 2026. We will follow same outline as last year.  We will have the kids for 1 hour total, breaking them into two groups, 30 minutes on the radio and 30 minutes in class, swapping at the half hour.

Now, remember some of this is subject to change depending on how many kids sign up for camps.  Last year, the first week they had enough kids to go with four groups, which meant one of the days we had a 10:00-11:00 group and a 11:00 to 12:00 group.  Other weeks we only had two groups for the week.  So, Semper Gumbi.

Between now and then, I am going to see if we can get additional helpers so we can provide good coverage during those days.
